Please find a list below of social groups available up and down the country. The list will grow when i find out about more groups.

The page is divided into counties in alphabetical order; each group will say on the title whether it is for young people or adults.

Cheshire
Buzz Youth Activity Group (Young People)
The Buzz Youth Activity group is a local youth group for young disabled people age 8-19 in Cheshire. The youth group is organised by Cheshire Centre For Independent Living.

The group gives young people the chance to take part in cooking, arts and crafts, cinema trips, bowling, sports events, talent shows and many day trips including Alton Towers, Llandudno, Blue Planet Aquarium and Crocky Trail. There are even trips at weekends for a couple of nights away at the Calvert Trust; outdoor adventure centres that cater for all disabilties. The group incourages total inclusion and makes sure all activities planned anyone of any ability can take part in. 

There are several groups across Cheshire so you are bound to find one near you! Some of the Venues include Chester, Sandbach, Macclesfield, Nantwich with the chance of more groups on the way.

Connect Activity Scheme (Young People)
The Connect Scheme is another social based activity run by Cheshire Centre For Independent Living. the idea of the Connect scheme is to allow young disabled people age 5-18 to attend a sport or leisure activity of their choice with a volunteer or group of volunteers. Some examples include Beavers, Brownies, shopping, local football teams, cinema visits and dance clubs; the possibilities are endless! The scheme is designed to boost the childs self confidence, support disabled young people with participation in their community and remove any barriers to encourage social inclusion.

This scheme is available across Cheshire East and Cheshire West.

Good Company (Adults)
Good Company is a social group for disabled adults age 19-35 and 36-65 in Cheshire East. The gorup is ideal for people to meet old friends and make new ones too. It also allows the chance to try new leisure activities in the local area. Activities include fine dining, cooking, arts, aromatherapy and Good Company get fit. 
Although the group is only based in Cheshire East at the moment there is chance for groups to expand and appear all over Cheshire.

Looking Forward Friday Group (Adults)
The looking forward Friday group is a Social group that runs every Friday in Cheshire West and aims to help adults with learning disabilities and learning difficulties to learn new skills and meet new people. Acitivties include cooking, drama, music, dj-ing, sports and meals out. The group promotes being healthy, staying safe, making a positive contribution, and acheiveing economic well being. The group is for disabled adults age 16-30.
